Tell us a little about your family
Let us know which Little Zebra service you’re interested in and what you’re looking for.
Starting care is a big step for the whole family. Here you’ll find the practical things that help make the transition easier – from Stay & Plays and what to pack, to meals, fees, communication and the questions families ask us most.
— STARTING CARE
Every child settles differently. We take the time to get to know your family, understand your child’s routines and make the transition into care feel as familiar and supported as possible.
Book a tour, explore the environment and meet the educators who’ll be part of your child’s day. We’ll talk through routines, sleep, food, comfort, communication and anything else you’d like us to know.
Before your child’s first full day, Stay & Plays give them the chance to spend time in the environment with you nearby – meeting educators, exploring the room and becoming familiar with new routines at their own pace.
Bring the things your child needs for the day, including any comfort item that helps them feel secure. Our educators will support them through the transition and keep you updated along the way.
We’ll share updates through Storypark and Xap, alongside the face-to-face conversations that help families feel part of their child’s day.
— WHAT TO BRING
We provide many of the everyday essentials your child needs at the service, including nappies, wipes, sunscreen and meals.
When your child enrols, they’ll also receive a Little Zebra enrolment pack with a hat, bag, drink bottle and T-shirt to help them get ready for their days with us.
Both Little Zebra services are SunSmart centres through Cancer Council Queensland.
We support sun-safe habits throughout the day with appropriate hats, sunscreen, shaded environments and outdoor routines designed to help children enjoy time outside safely.

— MEALS
Children are offered a variety of meals and snacks throughout the day, helping keep little bodies fuelled for play, learning and everything in between.
Menus are planned with nutritional guidelines in mind, and our team works with families around allergies, intolerances, cultural requirements and individual dietary needs.
Across the day
— FEES, CCS & FREE KINDY
Government support may reduce the cost of early learning and care for eligible families.
CCS is an Australian Government subsidy that helps eligible families with the cost of approved child care. The amount varies depending on your family circumstances and is generally paid directly to the service to reduce your fees.
The Queensland Government funds 15 hours of an approved Kindergarten Program each week, for up to 40 weeks per year, for eligible children in the year before Prep.
For children attending kindy within long day care, additional care outside those funded Kindergarten hours may still attract fees. CCS may help reduce those additional costs.
— FAQS
Can’t see yours? Call the centre or pop it in the enquiry form — we answer every message ourselves.
Both centres are open Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 6:30pm, closed on public holidays. Plenty of room around early starts and late pick-ups.
The Child Care Subsidy is the Australian Government’s main payment to help with the cost of care. Most families qualify – the amount depends on your household income, activity and the type of care. We help you understand your estimate and the subsidy is paid directly to us, reducing your weekly fees.
Yes – all meals are included. A cooked breakfast, morning tea, a hot lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.
We cater for allergies, intolerances and cultural or family food preferences. We build an individual plan with you on enrolment, and our kitchen and educators work to it every day.
We operate in line with the educator-to-child ratios required under the National Quality Framework, with staffing planned around children’s ages and the needs of each group.
Our approved Kindergarten program runs inside long day care hours. We offer flexible 9, 10 or 12 hour sessions to help maximise your subsidy whilst providing long day care hours for extra flexibility.
We follow Queensland Health exclusion guidelines to keep everyone well. If your child becomes unwell during the day we’ll call you to collect them, and we’ll always keep them comfortable until you arrive.
— COME AND MEET US
Choosing an early learning service is personal. A website can tell you a lot, but there’s nothing quite like walking through the doors yourself.
Come and meet our educators, explore the rooms and outdoor spaces, ask the questions that matter to you and get a feel for whether Little Zebra is the right fit for your family.
